SuperCoolNYC

Our core service provides expert installation and seasonal removal of window air conditioning units specifically designed for Manhattan's classic apartment windows. We focus exclusively on installing units in the bottom of windows that slide up and down, ensuring a secure, efficient, and safe fit. This method is ideal for most pre-war and standard apartment buildings in the city.

This service is perfect for residents who already own an AC unit and need professional help installing it, or for those who purchase a unit through us. Our licensed technicians arrive with all necessary tools and hardware. We properly seal the unit to prevent drafts and insects, ensure it is level for optimal drainage and performance, and secure it to prevent tipping. We also handle the careful removal of your unit at the end of the season, storing it safely or preparing it for off-season cover.

Why choose SuperCoolNYC? We are specialists, not generalists. Our deep understanding of NYC window types and building codes means we avoid common installation mistakes that lead to poor cooling, water damage, or security risks. We are fully insured for your protection, and our process is designed for your convenience, transforming a heavy, awkward task into a simple, professional service.

We offer a complete, white-glove solution for acquiring a new air conditioner and ensuring it meets all safety regulations. We carry reliable Frigidaire and Kenmore window AC units in various BTU capacities, from 5,000 BTU for small bedrooms to 12,000 BTU for living areas and studio apartments. We deliver the unit directly to your apartment in Manhattan, eliminating the struggle of transporting a heavy appliance on public transit or up flights of stairs.

Crucially, we are experts in NYC's safety bracket compliance, including Local Law 11 requirements. All our installations include a factory-made or custom-fabricated mounting bracket that securely anchors the AC unit to the window frame or building wall, preventing falls. This service is essential for both individual apartment dwellers and building managers seeking to protect residents, pass insurance inspections, and resolve violations.

For property managers and landlords, we provide scalable inspection and installation services for entire buildings, along with the proper documentation required for insurance and regulatory compliance. For parents helping students move into apartments near NYU, Columbia, or other schools, we can coordinate everything remotely with just a video or listing link. We handle the entire process: recommending the right unit size, delivering it, and performing a compliant, bracket-secured installation in one visit.

This dedicated service ensures your existing window air conditioner is secured with a proper safety mounting bracket, a critical requirement for safety and insurance in Manhattan. Many older installations lack this vital component, creating a dangerous hazard for street-level pedestrians and a liability for building owners.

Our technicians perform a thorough inspection of your current AC setup. We assess the window type, the unit's weight and dimensions, and the building's exterior to determine the appropriate bracket solution. We then install a robust, metal safety bracket engineered to support the full weight of your air conditioner. We use either standard factory brackets or create custom-fabricated ones for non-standard windows, ensuring a perfect and secure fit.

This service is designed for homeowners, tenants, co-op boards, and property management companies who need to bring their buildings into compliance with NYC laws and insurance policies. We provide detailed documentation of the installation for your records. Choosing SuperCoolNYC for your bracket work means partnering with a team that has extensive experience working directly with insurance companies and management firms. We understand the exact specifications and paperwork required, turning a complex compliance issue into a straightforward, reliable service.
