ProBusiness101 ("we", "us") operates the local business directory at probusiness101.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Business listing information. Business name, category, description, services, photos, address, phone number, email, website and opening hours. Owners submit this when they create or claim a listing; other listings are compiled from publicly available business information.
- Account information. When a business owner signs in to the owner portal we store the email address, name and password hash needed to run the account.
- Messages you send. Contact-form submissions, review and rating submissions, and emails to [email protected], including the name and email you provide.
- Usage information. Pages visited, the listing a visit came from, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type and referring page. We use this to show business owners how often their listing is opened and to keep the site secure.
How we use information
- To publish and maintain business listings and show them to visitors searching for local services.
- To answer contact requests and route customer enquiries to the business concerned.
- To give business owners statistics about their listing.
- To detect abuse, block automated scraping and keep the service available.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site sets a session cookie needed for forms and the owner portal to work. We also use:
- Google AdSense, which may set advertising cookies to show and measure ads. Google's use of advertising cookies is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads, and you can opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com.
- Cloudflare, which protects the site from attacks and may set a security cookie.
- Google Fonts, loaded from Google's servers to display the site's typefaces.
- ChatMox, the chat widget on some pages, which stores a conversation identifier in your browser.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the owner portal may then stop working.
Who we share information with
- Service providers that host and run the site (Amazon Web Services in the United States, Cloudflare) and that deliver email on our behalf.
- The business you contact, when you submit an enquiry or review through a listing.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Business owners: your listing
If your business appears on ProBusiness101 and you want to claim, correct or remove the listing, email [email protected] or use the contact form. We act on removal requests from the business owner or an authorised representative.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. Email [email protected] to exercise these rights.
Data retention
Listing information stays published until the owner removes it or we take it down. Contact-form messages and account data are kept while the account or request is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for record keeping. Usage statistics are aggregated and the raw records are deleted on a rolling basis.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, access to systems is restricted, and automated abuse is filtered. No online service can guarantee absolute security; tell us at once if you believe your information has been exposed.
Children
The site is intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
