Your electrical panel is the heart of your home's electrical system, distributing power safely to every circuit. If your Atlanta home is experiencing frequent breaker trips, you're adding major appliances, or your system is simply outdated, a service panel upgrade from Lightning Bug Electric is a critical investment in safety, reliability, and modern convenience.

This service is essential for homeowners with older homes that still have fuse boxes or low-amperage panels (like 60-100 amps), which are insufficient for today's high-demand devices. It's also crucial for those planning renovations, adding a home theater or EV charger, or experiencing signs of an overburdened system such as dimming lights when appliances turn on. An upgraded panel provides the capacity and modern safety features needed to power your life securely.

Our upgrade process is thorough and customer-focused. It starts with a detailed assessment of your current electrical usage and future needs. Our Master Electrician will recommend the appropriate new panel amperage (commonly 200 amps) and model. We handle all aspects of the project, from obtaining necessary permits to coordinating with the local utility company for the service disconnect and reconnect. On installation day, our professional team works efficiently to minimize your downtime. We carefully replace the old panel, upgrade the meter base if required, and ensure all connections meet the latest National Electrical Code (NEC) standards. We conduct comprehensive testing to verify everything is operating perfectly before restoring power.

As your local Atlanta electricians, we bring over 25 years of specialized experience to every panel upgrade. We are licensed and EATON certified, guaranteeing the work is performed to the highest standards. We pride ourselves on meticulous craftsmanship, clear communication throughout the project, and leaving your home cleaner than we found it. Trust Lightning Bug Electric to power your home safely for decades to come.

Embrace modern energy independence and convenience with professional EV charger and standby generator installations from Lightning Bug Electric. Serving Atlanta, we help homeowners integrate these advanced systems seamlessly and safely into their existing electrical infrastructure.

For electric vehicle owners, a dedicated Level 2 home charger transforms ownership, providing faster, more reliable charging than a standard outlet. For homeowners seeking backup power, a whole-house generator like Generac automatically keeps your lights, HVAC, and essential appliances running during an outage. These installations are not DIY projects; they require careful electrical load calculation, proper permitting, and adherence to strict safety codes to protect your home and family.

Our certified installation process begins with a consultation at your home. For EV chargers, we assess your garage or parking area's electrical capacity, recommend the optimal charger location for convenience and cable management, and ensure your panel can support the new circuit. For generators, we evaluate your home's power needs to size the unit correctly, determine the ideal outdoor placement compliant with local codes for exhaust and noise, and plan the automatic transfer switch installation. We manage all permits and coordinate inspections. Our technicians then perform the installation with precision, running necessary conduits, setting up dedicated circuits, and integrating the systems with your main electrical panel. We provide full system testing and walk you through its operation.

As Certified Tesla Installers and experienced Generac providers, Lightning Bug Electric is the trusted choice in Atlanta. Our technicians are not just installers; they are problem-solvers who ensure your new system is efficient, code-compliant, and built to last. We offer financing options and stand behind our work with a satisfaction guarantee. Power your future and secure your present with the bright team you can count on.
