Situation: We have an open layout on our first floor and our furnace is in the attic. With only one zone (thermostat located upstairs), the first floor can be significantly cooler than the second floor. In the winter, this can be a problem.
I contacted Bill Leary and they were able to quickly set up an appointment with one of their Senior Techs, Allen, to come out and provide some potential solutions. Allen was great and very transparent on the situation. We landed on installing a mini-split system on the first floor. It essentially provides a second zone for the first floor without having to rip up the walls to install ductwork. Perfect solution for us. Allen clearly laid out the pricing and process and scheduled the installation for 2 days later. Super quick!
On installation day, Nelson and Oz arrived on time and began right away. We needed to unit to connect to wifi for smart-home features. They were able to source the equipment to provide this feature with no issues or delays. Nelson and Oz completed the installation in one day and were very clean and tidy (put down blankets on the floors and removed and dust/debris created by the installation process). We quickly wrapped up the paperwork and payment and everything was done.
The Daikin unit we had installed works great and has no issues heating the entire bottom floor (one big room, high ceilings). And we can control the unit from anywhere with our phones, which was a must-have for us. Very happy and grateful.

“Highly recommend Bill Leary & team. Immediate Response on a mid-Friday Afternoon a week ago during a heat wave, my air conditioner stopped working. Amy, the office manager had a person (Bryan) in the area & asked Bryan to stop over. Needless to say, I had to replace the 25-year-old builders grade Goodman air conditioner. I cannot complain, I got a good run out of it. I decided to replace the furnace as well since that was 25 years old too. The office was able to get me on their schedule immediately (Thank God) in the midst of a heat wave, so much appreciated. Leary's Team, Dan H, Ryan, & Sean showed up on Monday morning, on time, very professional & respectful of my house & property. My husband said it was an excellent install, one of the best he's come across. Every phase of the job was well thought through, no short cuts taken, the team took their time & did not rush the job. Ensured it was perfect from the line set, condensate tube & great job on the filter box. We could not be happier with this job. “I want to give a huge shoutout to Justin from Bill Leary Air & Heating. We purchased a brand new heating system, and unfortunately the experience started off very rough. The installers came on Saturday, and by Saturday night the system stopped working. Another technician came Sunday morning, and by Sunday night—no heat again. Another technician came Sunday night and by Monday morning -no heat once again.
By Monday, Justin came out and immediately did what the previous three technicians missed. He carefully listened, thoroughly checked everything, identified all the issues, and fixed the problem completely. He was professional, respectful, patient, and took the time to explain what was wrong and how he fixed it.
Justin was truly a savior during the coldest weekend of the winter when we had no heat. While my overall experience with the company was extremely frustrating and disappointing, Justin saved the day.

Also called Bill Leary’s requesting to speak with a manager or supervisor and sent an email asking for a return call, but I never heard back. As a new customer who spent a lot of money on a brand new heating system, it’s extremely disappointing that no one from management reached out—especially after dealing with five days of ongoing issues with a system that should have worked from day one. The lack of follow-up and communication was very frustrating and disappointing
