Air Star Heating and A.C

Is your air conditioner struggling to keep up with the Alamo Heights heat? Air Star Heating and A.C. specializes in comprehensive air conditioning services for both residential and commercial properties. We handle everything from minor repairs to complete system replacements, using only high-quality components and manufacturer specifications.

Our certified technicians begin every AC service with a thorough diagnostic assessment. We check refrigerant levels, inspect compressor function, test airflow, and evaluate electrical connections. This methodical approach ensures we identify the root cause of inefficiency or breakdown, not just the symptoms. Whether you need a capacitor replaced, a coil cleaned, or a new energy-efficient unit installed, we explain your options clearly and provide upfront pricing.

For homeowners considering a new air conditioner, we help you select the right size and SEER rating for your home’s square footage and ductwork. We install top brands, including YORK^®, Carrier, Trane, and Lennox. Proper installation is critical – an incorrectly sized AC will short-cycle, waste energy, and fail prematurely. Our team follows rigorous load calculation standards so you get maximum comfort and lower monthly bills. Plus, with our maintenance plans, we keep your system running smoothly for years. No matter your cooling need, from ductless add-ons to central AC, you can count on Air Star for honest work and lasting results.

When temperatures drop in Alamo Heights, a reliable gas furnace is not a luxury – it is a necessity. Air Star Heating and A.C. offers complete furnace services, including maintenance, repair, and replacement. Our team is experienced with all major gas furnace brands and models, from older standing pilot units to modern condensing furnaces with variable-speed blowers.

During a furnace repair, we follow a safety-first process. We test the heat exchanger for cracks (which can lead to carbon monoxide leaks), inspect the igniter or pilot assembly, check gas pressure, and examine the blower motor and limit switches. Common issues we resolve include short-cycling, insufficient heat, unusual noises, and constant running. If a repair is not cost-effective or your furnace is over 15 years old, we recommend a replacement with a high-efficiency model (90% AFUE or higher).

Our technicians help you navigate rebates, financing, and the best unit for your home’s layout. We install gas furnaces from YORK^®, Goodman, Rheem, and other trusted names. We also integrate new thermostats and zoning systems for personalized comfort. After installation, we test combustion efficiency and ensure proper venting. For ongoing peace of mind, our Star Energy Agreement includes annual furnace tune-ups, priority service, and discounts on repairs. Keep your family safe and warm – trust Air Star for honest, expert furnace care.

Looking for efficient, flexible cooling and heating without bulky ductwork? Ductless mini-split systems from Air Star Heating and A.C. are the perfect solution for room additions, sunrooms, garages, or homes with existing hydronic or electric baseboard heat. Our team specializes in designing and installing ductless systems that provide year-round comfort with remarkable energy savings.

A ductless system has three main components: an outdoor compressor/condenser, one or more indoor air handling units, and a small conduit that connects them through a three-inch hole in the wall. Because there are no ducts, you eliminate the energy losses associated with central forced-air systems (which can account for more than 30% of energy consumption). Each indoor unit has its own thermostat, allowing you to set different temperatures in different rooms – a major advantage for multi-story homes or spaces with varying sun exposure.

We carry top ductless brands including Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, and Daikin. Our process starts with a home assessment to determine the right number and placement of indoor units. We handle the entire installation: mounting the indoor head(s), setting the outdoor unit on a pad or wall bracket, running refrigerant lines and drainage, and connecting electrical. After installation, we test the system in both cooling and heating modes, check for proper condensate drainage, and show you how to use the remote and programmable features. For Alamo Heights homeowners who want quiet, efficient, and duct-free comfort, Air Star is the trusted choice.
