Normally, this is the pitch of a scammer... and we have seen work of various qualities, some we contracted with, and many we did not... but this guy had some plusses: Nice new truck, nice printed color hang tags, an established company I could check on Google... and he WAS doing a job in the neighborhood... I stopped by, and he had a crew, and it looked like they were doing a good job... so we talked price... and after a bit of horse trading 😋, he gave me the Sr. discount...😋😋... so we said ok.
Turns out both the crew and materials were good. We have been here 24 years, and this is the best coating job we have seen yet on the driveway. The large cracks were filled with hot tar, and the material used to coat the driveway seems to have been of good quality.
The young man was impressive. He could have been in school protesting... but instead, he was out in the world making a living. That is what decided us, and it seems to have turned out to be a good decision.
