“To be perfectly clear, I am not giving this review based on the construction of the retaining wall itself. The retaining wall looks great and will last a long time.
However, our backyard was completely destroyed during the construction of this project, and we were told “there was nothing they could have done” to prevent it. The LEAST that could have been done was tell us that the gravel pit we had installed for our dogs would be decimated. The metal was crushed with their tractor, making it impossible for us to even reconstruct it. Our backyard is a mud pit, and with six dogs, this is a huge problem. Last year we had sod installed for $5K. There isn’t a single patch of grass left in our backyard now.
When we brought up these issues, we were told that they could possibly reseed it in spring if it didn’t grow back. I can’t emphasize enough how much of a burden it is to have six dogs that can’t go into the backyard for months because they will be covered in mud each time, and the inconvenience of having to now constantly clean our floors with every short trip outside. This was a shockingly bad experience.”
