“Worse moving experience ever. They no longer care about offering careful quality moving services, all they care is about how much more money they can get. I have used CHHJ for various moves and they kept getting progressively worse. They came into my place of business like a Hurricane, tearing everything down and dumping items into boxes that ended up half full. They were repeatedly told to slow down and be careful, but my requests were ignored. I should have just told them to leave and hired another company but I had to move out of my commercial space. Thousands of dollars worth of products and furnishings destroyed and they kept adding men and vehicles to the job which ended up being unnecessary, overcharged for packing supplies because boxes were used carelessly and were half empty as well as the trucks. The men try to distract you while others are carelessly handling your items. Do not hire these movers if you care about your contents”

“AVOID THIS COMPANY! I absolutely hate this company and do NOTTT recommend them. They STOLE my furniture!!! They are dishonest and will charge you a completely different price once they actually arrive on site than what they quoted you for before. They’ll also take your furniture and NEVER CONTACT YOU AGAIN!! My job was over 2 weeks ago and I’m unable to get in touch with anyone regarding where my furniture was taken! The main line is completely useless and keeps saying they contacted the local franchise and a supervisor or manager will get back to me but no one ever calls me back! I’ve reported them to the Better Business Bureau and may pursue legal action. I encourage you to AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!! They are scam artists and thieves and completely dishonest!!!”

“I hired College Hunks in Tampa to load two storage pods, to pack fragile kitchen items, and to wrap expensive furniture items to prevent damage during the move. In summary, this was the most negligent and unprofessional moving experience I have ever had. The "hunks" packed the kitchen items horribly - As one example, they placed fragile glassware on the BOTTOM of boxes (with very little wrapping paper) and stacked heavy kitchen pots/pans on top of it. They also negligently packed items into a storage pod with no degree of professionalism or care...items were thrown on top of each other that created extensive shifting and damage during transit of the pods. When I received my storage pod a couple of weeks later, I discovered a nightmare. I lost about 50% of my kitchen glassware, experienced damage to expensive furniture including rips in upholstery, artwork damage including a rip in an oil canvas painting and wooden frames irreparably damaged, amongst other various damages due to neglect and flat out negligence when packing household items. As of this review and at the end of unpacking, the extent of the damage from College Hunks negligence has been over $5,000. They have yet to contact me even after opening a case with them weeks ago. Please - DO NOT patronize this company. They are an absolutely terrible mover and do not take any care whatsoever in their job. Their packing services are beyond negligent - it blows my mind at how awful it was. Furthermore, they so far refuse to engage with me to resolve this dispute in a fair and amicable manner. 6/20/24 Update: I wanted to post an update to this. After a rather arduous process, I was put in touch with a Regional Director for College Hunks. This person reviewed my case and made a decision to refund me for all of my moving charges. While that doesn't cover the full cost of the damages, I feel this is an amicable outcome and I am very appreciative of this gesture. Any company that relies on people can have a "bad day", and that seems to be what happened here. While it is unfortunate, the important thing for customers and prospective customers to know is that the company stands behind their service and takes concerns and issues seriously. While it is upsetting to have gone through this, I applaud College Hunks for doing the right thing and attempting to alleviate this situation. I think that says a lot about the overall company and because of this I would consider College Hunks in the future for moving services.”

“I have utilized college hunks multiple times for junk removal and moving. During my last move I paid extra for installation services. The movers incorrectly hung my headboard - ruining the headboard and the walls of my rental. Since then I called on January 26th and was advised I could open an insurance claim and a manager would call me back in 3-5 days. It is now February 17th I have called multiple times since then every time I get told I will receive a call back from a manger before end of business. I have yet to receive a call. My property was ruined and I was charged hefty fees. I have never experienced such poor customer service and am at a loss for how to recover my damages. This company is terrible I would never recommend for the high premiums we pay to be with an insured mover but not sure if they are insured if all they do is dodge calls and accountability.
