Aegis Fine Rug Cleaning

Oriental and Persian rugs are intricate works of art woven with natural fibers and delicate dyes. Over time, dirt, dust, and allergens become trapped deep within the knots, causing fibers to wear down prematurely. At Aegis Fine Rug Cleaning, we specialize in hand-washing these treasured pieces using a gentle, multi-step process that respects their construction. First, we carefully inspect your rug for existing damage, color bleeding risks, and fiber type. Then, we dust both sides to remove dry s...

Pet accidents are one of the most common—and stressful—issues for fine rug owners. Urine stains not only leave unsightly marks but can also create persistent odors and attract insects. Many household cleaners or general carpet cleaning companies make the problem worse by setting the stain or damaging delicate fibers. At Aegis Fine Rug Cleaning, we have spent decades treating pet-related contamination on silk, wool, and other fine materials. Our specialized process begins with a thorough inspecti...

Silk and wool rugs are prized for their softness, luster, and warmth, but they are also among the most delicate floor coverings you can own. Machine washing, steam cleaning, or harsh detergents can cause irreversible damage such as fiber shredding, color bleeding, and shrinking. At Aegis Fine Rug Cleaning, we hand-wash each silk and wool rug using techniques tailored to its specific fiber and weave. For silk, we use extra-gentle, low-moisture methods and test for dye stability before proceeding....

Fine rugs are heirlooms, investments, and works of art, and we clean them that way. Every rug we take on is hand-washed, as many times as it needs, with no harsh chemicals and no machine washing. Oriental rugs hold dust and allergens deep in their knots, and that grit slowly wears down the fibers. Our process starts with an inspection for existing damage, color bleeding risk, and fiber type. We dust both sides, hand-wash with pH-balanced, eco-friendly solutions, rinse thoroughly, and then let the rug air-dry slowly to prevent mold and shrinkage. This is the gentlest route we know for antique and handmade rugs, and it brings back color without the wear that machines cause. Our Austin cust...

A Persian rug is built by hand and deserves cleaning that respects that work. We inspect each piece first, then dust it and wash it by hand using a multi-step process suited to its construction. The solutions we use are pH-balanced and eco-friendly, and each rug is rinsed thoroughly and dried slowly so it keeps its shape and does not shrink. We avoid machine washing and harsh chemicals altogether. For Austin owners who want their rug's colors refreshed and its life extended, this is the careful...

Wool rugs are warm and resilient, but they need the right products and gentle handling. We use pH-neutral, WoolSafe-approved cleaners that lift soil while keeping the natural lanolin and springiness of the fiber. Each rug is hand-washed with soft brushes, rinsed through several cycles, and dried slowly in a controlled setting. We do not use centrifugal extraction or heat, since those can damage wool. Whether you own a modern wool piece or an older family rug, we will clean it carefully in Austin...

Antique rugs carry history in their fibers and dyes, and they are often too fragile for ordinary cleaning. We begin with a close inspection to check for damage, dye stability, and fiber condition before any water touches the rug. Then we hand-wash with gentle, pH-balanced solutions, rinse carefully, and dry the piece slowly to avoid mold and shrinkage. We take the time each piece requires, since older rugs often need more than one wash. Austin owners of antique pieces can rely on us to clean the...

Silk rugs have a luster and softness that can be lost quickly to the wrong cleaning. Machine washing, steam, and strong detergents can shred fibers or bleed color, so we avoid all of them. Before we begin, we test the dyes for stability, then hand-wash with extra-gentle, low-moisture methods and soft brushes. We rinse several times and dry the rug slowly in a climate-controlled space. Whether it is a family prayer rug or a modern silk piece, we treat it with the care silk demands, and pickup and...

Pet accidents on a fine rug leave stains, lingering odor, and sometimes insect problems, and ordinary cleaners can set the stain deeper. We inspect the rug thoroughly to find every affected area, including spots you cannot see. We use enzymatic, rug-safe solutions to break down the uric acid crystals without harming the dyes, then hand-wash and rinse several times. A neutralizing rinse removes remaining odor, and the rug dries slowly in a controlled environment. For Austin pet owners, this often...
