Invasive vegetation control in Atlanta

Invasive plants like English ivy, kudzu, privet, and bamboo can crowd out native growth and make a yard harder to maintain each year. We start with a site assessment to map what is present and how far it has spread. From there we build a phased removal plan that combines hand removal, targeted treatment where it is needed, and native replacement plantings so the same problems do not return. We also show you how to keep the property clear over time through our Cues of Care stewardship program.

Forest restoration

Wooded areas that have been cleared, degraded, or overrun by invasives can be rebuilt into healthy native forest. Our process begins by reading the site's soil, sun exposure, moisture, and existing trees, then designing a planting plan that suits those conditions. We prepare the ground, set in native species suited to the microclimate, and monitor the planting as it establishes. Our focus is on restoring the layered structure and food web of a forest, not just planting trees, and we work at scal...

Habitat expansion services in Atlanta

If you want your property to support pollinators, birds, and other wildlife, we can expand the native plant communities that make that possible. We design around your site's soil, light, and water conditions, then select plants that will thrive there and bring in the wildlife they support. Plants are sourced from local nurseries where possible to keep genetic diversity intact. Whether the space is a small backyard or several acres, the goal is a landscape that needs less upkeep and gives back mo...

Storm water management solutions in Atlanta

Heavy rain in Atlanta can cause erosion, pooling, and runoff that carries pollutants off your land. We begin with an assessment of how water moves across the property, then design features that manage it where it falls. Depending on the site, that may mean terracing, swales, berms, or rain gardens, all shaped to look intentional in the landscape. Installation involves careful grading, soil amendment, and planting species that handle both wet and dry spells, so water slows, soaks in, and the prob...

Landscape regeneration in Atlanta

Many properties have been stripped of soil life, native plants, and natural drainage through construction or long years of mowing and chemical use. Our regeneration work aims to bring those systems back. We look at the existing soil, vegetation, and water patterns, then rebuild them step by step with native plants and corrective grading where needed. The result is a landscape that holds water, supports native life, and needs less input from you over time. Each project is tailored to the particul...

Native habitat restoration

Native habitat restoration brings back the plants and wildlife that once defined a site, replacing turf or invasive cover with species that belong here. We first study the property to understand its conditions and what used to grow there, then plan planting and any clearing needed to make room. Native plants are installed in the right places and followed up on until they establish. The outcome is a space that supports native insects, birds, and pollinators while requiring less mowing, watering,...

Terracing and swales installation in Atlanta

Sloped ground is prone to erosion, and terraces and swales are among the most reliable ways to slow water as it moves downhill. Terraces step the slope into level beds that catch soil and runoff, while swales are shallow channels that guide water across the land so it can soak in. We grade the site carefully, amend the soil where needed, and plant stabilizing vegetation that holds the ground in place. Done well, these features look like part of the landscape design and protect the slope from was...

Rain garden design and installation in Atlanta

A rain garden is a planted depression that collects runoff from roofs, driveways, and other hard surfaces and lets it filter slowly into the soil. We design each one around the water flow on your property, the soil's drainage, and how much runoff needs to be handled. Installation includes excavation, soil preparation, and planting with species that can handle both wet periods and dry spells. Beyond the practical benefits, a well-designed rain garden adds color and wildlife value to the yard, and...

I highly recommend EcoLogic for anyone in the Atlanta area looking to improve their property's native habitat. I have some wooded creek area on my property and could see it was overgrown with English Ivy, privet, etc. EcoLogic came and explored the site, then drew up a plan to show me how they could restore it to a healthier condition that would be prettier and more valuable to birds and other critters. It's amazing to see the difference in the site now! The aggressive plants that were taking over have been removed and it's been really neat to see the native plants start to come back. The owner told me a while back that if we gave them some room and some sun, native flowers and grasses would return on their own - and they were right! The owner is great about sharing their knowledge with me so that I can learn about what the crew is doing and why. The most important feature (to me) about EcoLogic is their low impact approach. I really didn't want to rely on herbicides or loud/stinky power tools and EcoLogic is fully on board with a manual approach. For anyone who wants to be a better steward of the land that they live on, EcoLogic is the #1 choice. Positive Responsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Professionalism, Value

EcoLogic has been helping me to manage and remove invasive species in my overgrown back yard for the last three years, starting with stopping English ivy, kudzu, and other vines from growing on my tallest trees around stream at the edge of the yard. I was very happy with the improvements and their (optional) training that allowed me to take over some maintenance myself. After getting the most aggressive invasive species in a maintainable state, we implemented a water flow project with berms and swales to reduce erosion on the hillside during rainfall. A mix of native trees, shrubs, and meadow plants are growing to stabilize the slope long-term. I’ve also attended community nature walks and lectures by Tea of EcoLogic, and I appreciate the combination of generous knowledge sharing and practical help/labor to transform my space!

The EcoLogic LLC team has completely changed my ability to enjoy the outdoors at home! It's so much more than lawn conversion and invasive removal; the habitat they're creating in my backyard is more inviting to me (now that I don't have to fear the poison ivy) and many other animals (I'm already seeing more salamanders and birds). In a world full of things to feel guilty about, I feel proud and happy when I see the biodiversity returning to our land. And the space looks so much larger now with rain gardens, prairie areas and a riparian corridor, as compared to the lawn and tangled mess that were there before. Everyone who has worked here has been so cool, and the leader, Tea, is so knowledgeable! They teach us how to work smarter not harder - mowing at just the right intervals to remove invasive seeds for example. Each time they come I learn more and feel more inspired to interact with the local ecosystem.

EcoLogic has helped us a couple of times with removing invasive plants from our yard to help us progress our long term plan of turning our yard into a native landscape. After we built an ADU in our backyard, we decided we wanted a native rain garden to capture the building’s runoff, rather than a buried dry well. Tea from Ecologic was enthusiastic in coming out to the house and envisioning what that could look like for us. They know so much about native plants and natural landscaping, and are eager to share that knowledge. Once we decided to move ahead, a rotation of very dedicated crews put in a lot of hard work to get the rain garden built and planted. Things are growing in nicely, in the Spring it was thrilling to see how lush it became. Tea has also been out a number of times since completing the job to check on how things are progressing, and to offer advice regarding maintenance. They seem to take pride in what they create.

EcoLogic has been assisting me in rejuvenating my yard and removing invasives for about a year now. I have a very significant english ivy, vinca, and privet infestation that the team has been making great progress on removing, using techniques that are safe for the landscape, native plants, and pollinators. As the project continues over time EcoLogic will also be assisting me in adding more native plants - I'm looking forward to more great progress with the team! The team members and leads are all friendly and knowledgeable. Tea is great to work with too - they have answered so many of my detailed questions both in the evaluation process and throughout the project so far. A superb team with so much dang knowledge and expertise. We had EcoLogic come to our farm to help consult on forest & riparian restoration, meadowscaping plans, and proper tools & training for the job. We recommend them every chance we get, and I hope more such outfits continue to pop up in Atlanta, esp ones as committed to community values & accessibility. No notes!
