Mohsen Rugs

Your Oriental and Persian rugs deserve specialized care that respects their delicate fibers, natural dyes, and intricate craftsmanship. At Mohsen Rugs in Houston, our thorough washing process is designed specifically for handmade textiles, removing years of embedded dirt, allergens, and stains without compromising the rug's integrity.

This service is essential for homeowners who want to maintain their rug's vibrant colors and soft texture, families concerned about indoor air quality, and collectors preserving valuable pieces. We begin with a detailed inspection to identify material types, dye stability, and any areas of weakness. Using pH-balanced, gentle cleaning solutions and controlled water temperatures, we carefully wash each rug by hand or with specialized equipment that mimics traditional methods.

The process includes gentle agitation, multiple rinses to remove all residues, and controlled drying in our climate-controlled facility to prevent shrinkage or mold. Why choose us? Unlike generic carpet cleaners, we understand the unique requirements of wool, silk, and cotton foundations. Our years of experience with thousands of rugs mean we can anticipate potential issues before they become problems. We treat your rug with the same care we would give our own family heirlooms, ensuring it returns to your home looking refreshed and revitalized.

When your cherished Oriental rug suffers from wear, damage, or aging, our precision-oriented repair and extensive restoration services in Houston can bring it back to life. From reweaving torn corners to reconstructing missing sections, we address both cosmetic flaws and structural issues that threaten your rug's longevity.

This service is ideal for owners of antique rugs showing signs of fraying, moth damage, or weakened foundations; families with heirloom pieces that have sentimental value; and anyone who has invested in a quality rug that needs professional attention to maintain its worth. Our restoration process begins with a comprehensive assessment, where we document every detail—from original knot count and dye colors to pattern repeats and material composition.

Using matching materials and traditional techniques, our skilled artisans meticulously re-knot, re-weave, and reinforce your rug. We source period-appropriate wool and silk, and often hand-dye threads to match original colors perfectly. The result isn't just a repair—it's a preservation of artistry. Why trust Mohsen Rugs with your restoration? We combine generations of knowledge with modern conservation principles. We don't just fix problems; we restore integrity, ensuring your rug can be enjoyed for decades to come while maintaining or even increasing its value.

Understanding your rug's true value requires specialized knowledge of market trends, craftsmanship quality, and historical significance. At Mohsen Rugs in Houston, we offer professional appraisal services for Persian and Oriental rugs, providing you with documented valuations for insurance, estate planning, or sale purposes.

Our consignment program offers a trusted alternative to selling your rug privately or through auction houses. This service benefits collectors looking to liquidate part of their collection, families inheriting rugs they don't wish to keep, and homeowners upgrading their decor who want fair market value for their current pieces. The appraisal process involves examining every aspect of your rug: materials, dyes, knot density, design rarity, condition, age, and provenance. We research comparable sales and current market demand to provide you with a comprehensive written valuation.

For consignment, we professionally clean and photograph your rug, then display it in our showroom alongside our curated collection. We handle all customer interactions, negotiations, and transactions, providing you with regular updates. Why choose our appraisal and consignment services? As active participants in the rug trade, we have real-time knowledge of what collectors and designers are seeking. Our established reputation in Houston means your rug gains exposure to serious buyers who trust our curation. We operate with complete transparency regarding fees and timelines, ensuring a smooth, professional experience.
