Whether you've found the perfect container at our garden center or need guidance selecting one, our expert team handles every detail—from proper drainage and soil selection to artistic arrangement and aftercare instructions.

This service is perfect for Westbury homeowners who want professional-looking container gardens without the guesswork, business owners seeking impressive entrance displays, or anyone with cherished houseplants that have outgrown their pots. We work with all plant types, from delicate orchids and succulents to substantial outdoor trees and seasonal displays.

The process begins with a consultation where we assess your plants, discuss your aesthetic preferences, and consider the growing conditions of your space. We then select or help you choose containers that complement both your plants and your decor. Our repotting service includes carefully removing the plant, root pruning if necessary, adding appropriate soil amendments, and securing the plant in its new home with proper support and drainage materials.

Why choose Hicks Nurseries for your custom planters? Our 170+ years of horticultural expertise means we understand how different plants respond to repotting. We use premium, locally-sourced soils appropriate for our Westbury climate, and as an added benefit for Advantage Rewards members, we offer free unlimited repotting—a testament to our confidence in our work and our commitment to your plants' ongoing health.

Bring the garden center to your doorstep with our comprehensive delivery and professional planting services. We understand that selecting beautiful plants is just the beginning—proper installation is what ensures they thrive in your specific Westbury environment. Our team handles everything from safe transport to expert planting, so you can enjoy instant landscape transformation without the heavy lifting.

This service is ideal for busy Westbury homeowners who want immediate impact, those with physical limitations that make planting challenging, customers purchasing large trees or shrubs, or anyone who wants the assurance that their investment is planted correctly by professionals. We service residential properties throughout our service area, bringing our nursery expertise directly to your garden.

Our process starts with careful loading and secure transportation using specialized equipment to protect your plants. Upon arrival at your property, we assess the planting site for sunlight, drainage, and spacing considerations. We then prepare the planting hole with proper dimensions and soil amendments tailored to the specific plant type and our local soil conditions. After carefully placing and positioning the plant, we backfill with premium soil, water deeply, apply appropriate mulch, and provide you with detailed aftercare instructions.

Choosing Hicks Nurseries for your planting needs means partnering with Long Island's most experienced garden professionals. We don't just dig holes—we apply generations of knowledge about what plants succeed in our region, how to address common local soil challenges, and techniques that promote strong root establishment. Our pro-planting service comes with the same health guarantee as our in-store plants, giving you peace of mind that your new garden additions are set up for long-term success.

Unlock your garden's potential with our scientific approach to soil health through professional pH testing and personalized lawn care consultations. Many gardening challenges in the Westbury region—from yellowing leaves to poor flowering—stem from soil conditions that can be easily corrected with proper diagnosis and treatment. Our testing service provides the foundation for all your gardening success.

This service benefits both novice and experienced gardeners in Westbury and surrounding areas, homeowners struggling with lawn issues, vegetable gardeners seeking maximum yields, and property managers maintaining commercial landscapes. Understanding your soil's pH and nutrient profile is the first step toward creating the vibrant, healthy garden you envision.

Bring a soil sample from your garden to our Westbury garden center, and our experts will conduct a precise pH test using professional equipment. We'll interpret the results in the context of what you're trying to grow—whether it's acid-loving azaleas, neutral-preferring lawns, or alkaline-tolerant vegetables. Based on the findings, we provide specific, actionable recommendations for soil amendments, fertilizers, and treatment schedules tailored to our local climate and growing conditions.

For lawn care, we offer seasonal consultations that go beyond basic testing. We'll walk you through a customized fertilization schedule (including when to apply crabgrass preventer when temperatures hit that critical 50-55°F window), aeration recommendations, overseeding strategies, and organic treatment options. At Hicks Nurseries, we combine laboratory precision with 170 years of hands-on Westbury gardening experience. We don't just sell you products—we provide the knowledge and customized plan that ensures those products work effectively in your specific soil situation.
