A truly terrible and ongoing experience. Would be zero stars if option.
Do not use this company.
Brown Foundation Repair does have knowledge and professional staff, these are the people you encounter during inquiry, assessment, and quotes. They then sub out all the installation, maintenance, etc. and they do so through completely inept services.
The promised 1 day installation of a simple Atmox crawl space ventilation system took over 3 days to complete. On the first day two men arrive who could not communicate in English to install an open box Atmox system. I grew concerned when I heard a saws all and found that they sawed my floor joists to reclaim wood and make mounts for fans where the discussed plan was to seal vents.
Their “supervisor” let himself into my house after they left and informed me that “it is installed wrong, my boss wants photos” and he added “I should have been here to get this right, but I went to plano on a personal errand”
The electrician followed up for connection, but the full system wasn’t installed. This meant that the guy only expecting to hook up the wires had to reinstall all the fans, install the dehumidifier, and seal the vents. He did his best but had arrived with no material or expectation to do this work. Miguel, the Brown Foundation Repairs “production manager” brought him some pink foam board and duct tape - so that’s what I got.
The electrician was a novice, drilled multiple holes through my floor to find wall space and routings. Plugged the entire system in daisy chaining off the master bedroom plug rather to my panel, so if you turn the TV on it blows a circuit..
All the while, no effort to communicate with me was made. I had to coordinate all of this between BFR, electricians, and “managers”.
So then I spent Saturday under my house installing the system correctly. I performed all the necessary labor and fixed all the issues.
I have called BFR office numerous times over many weeks to discuss with higher management and recommend training and improvement….what do you know silence.
“I’ll leave a note” that’s their best response

I am unhappy. I asked for 4 things in this project. A new concrete patio, gutters for the house, footers for the pillars holding up the patio, and a Swale to direct water around the patio, built into the concrete
I was given an estimate for the work I asked for 11000 and change. I say yes send me the contract. Theirnwebsite is "having difficulties" and the contract won't load. They send it to me 11 times. When I read it it doesn't mention the footers. They are in the map assigned to the contract. I call the estimates guy Jacob. He assures me where the contract mentions pillars, those are actually the footers I asked for.
Today, Tuesday the 18th, is the first day of work. I greet the crew and mention the work, just to make sure something isn't forgotten. Apparently the footers aren't in the contract. I call Jacob. Apparently someone who works for GL hunt told him not to bother PUTTING IN ONE OF THE 4 THI GS I ASKED FOR AND AGREED TO PAY FOR, into the final contract he sent me, so when I had called him to ask about it, he lied to me.
Now, GL hunt wants 2500 more to add 3 footers to the contract, and to buy a yard of dirt. Because it was not specifically spelled out, but I'd on the map that I signed. They don't want to honor the map attached to the contract for this.
So I have a conundrum. Can I trust them to follow anything? Currently the pillars for my patio are not steady. Gl hunt has removed the concrete and left my an unsafe patio area. (It's day one) Only after doing that did they decide, let's demand more money for the work that the customer asked for originally.

I had a great experiance working with Brown. My home was a 1955 pier and beam with additions and a lot of issues. I put off the work for way too long because I didn’t know how to pay for it. After consulting bank and a few other lending options I asked Brown about their financing. That turned out to better terms for me. As for getting the job done, great. Harold came out for initial estimate and scope of work. He didn’t over sell and he knew what he was talking about. Noe then followed up with a more detailed look at work needed done. Cought a couple things and added it with my permission before the crew arrived in a couple days. Jose ran the team that did the work. He communicated with me throughout the process. It was all done timely, professionally and on my budget. Very appreciative! Thank you.

Brown foundation recently completed repairs at my home. Tony in sales was great at explaining the different options we had. I just wished that the issue on the inside of our home was found during the initial inspection/evaluation. This is the 1st foundation company we had to use, so I can't do a comparison. My cons would be that the 1st crew be more mindful to not bury the homeowners soaker hoses under the dirt, use a tarp when piling the dirt. We were left with a bare spot in the yard and I noticed more damage to our dry wall in one area when they did the lifting of the Piers from the outside. Also, it was a bit bothersome that I kept getting asked how we were going to pay before the projects were even completed. The communication between the contractors and their financing dept needs improvement. My pros would be, my doors were able to close when the final piece of the project was completed . Juan martinez and his crew (inside crew) did a good job. They used tarps when piling the dirt and he addressed any concerns I had along the way. I'm hoping for the best. I don't want to go through this process again. It's very stressful.
