They were already booked up for the day so we would have to wait until the following day for service. Fortunately I received a call a few hours later from a Technician named BK saying he could be at my residence within 15 minutes. Upon arrival BK was professional courteous and knowledgeable. Bobby Brannon installed an AC at our house less than 2 years ago. The capacitor failed on it, and I called in to request warranty service. I was aware the warranty would only cover parts, and clarified on the phone before the tech was dispatched what the hourly rate ($115) was and whether the system was under warranty. I asked if the cost would be the same today as it would be Monday. The answers were both yes. Tech arrives, spends 15 minutes replacing capacitor, then charges me $182.50. I asked why it was more than one hour at $115 which is what I was expecting. His response was “on the weekend I have to charge for the trip here and trip back”, I reminded him of our discussion on the phone before he came and he told me I should call the office if I disagreed with the price. If he would have told me up front about the different way a weekend call is charged I would likely have agreed to it, but I feel that I went out of my way to clarify what my cost would be and it would have been very easy for him to explain it when I asked instead of after he gave me the bill. I really hope I can get future service work done by another company, otherwise this warranty may not hold any value for me.
On top of all that, apparently he couldn’t see fit to close the gate to my backyard, we have 3 dogs. Thankfully I discovered it quickly, otherwise I hate to think what could have happened.
