I don’t rarely write reviews cause I can look past a lot of things and let it go, but this situation doesn’t sit right with me. Dan did a great job as far as the work that was done. No issues there. What I am still confused about is how I was charged $202 for a capacitor when I was originally told $75 for a universal one. And $89 for amp fuses?! Furthermore, when I originally called for an appointment, I was told if the technician didn’t have a part on hand and they have to leave the premises, it wouldn’t count towards the $100 hourly rate they charge. Time would stop until they come back and start the job again. Which all that makes sense. So before Dan left to go pick up the part, he confirmed to me that he was going to stop the time so I’m not charged while he’s gone. My final bill was $471. I was a bit taken away. I paid with no questions, but when I took a look at the receipt and saw how much I actually paid for the capacitor and fuses, I was appalled. The breakdown are as follows: $79.95 for dispatch fee $100 for labor $202 for (1) 70/7.5 MFD run capacitor $89 for (2) 25 amp fuses I called the company and spoke to a manager and asked her to elaborate how I was charged so much. She talked about overhead charge, restocking charge, gas, etc. She named bout 5 things that have nothing to do with me. I thought that’s where the hourly rate comes in? She also said I’m charged for when they have to leave to get the part because that’s time taken from them and they could be working on someone else’s house as if I’m not a paying customer, paying the hourly rate that qualifies me as a customer. Mind you, I was told time stops if they have to go pick up a part by the person who made my appointment and also Dan told me before he left. So I received 2 different sets of info. One from the appointment setter and Dan, this information was consistent from both parties; there is no charge when a technician leaves a job site to pick up parts. And separate info from the manager. She stated she will have to follow up with her staff to pass along the information, that the hourly rate will continue when the techs leave the job site to get parts. So with that being said she tells me Dan did work with me as far as only charging me for an hour for labor. So Dan arrived around 10:15am, took a look at the unit and left to go pick up the part approximately 10:30 or so. He didn’t return until about 11:20 to start work again. He finished the job officially right before 12:00pm and packed up. If you add the time of when Dan was actually on the job, it does add up close to an hour, but definitely not longer than an hour. So I’m not exactly sure what she (manager) meant when she said he worked with me as far as hourly rate as if he was doing me a favor. Overall, again Dan did a wonderful job and I truly appreciate his work and time. But I’m still left with questions, confusion and still can’t rationalized the final bill. I wouldn’t have mind if I had to pay double or even triple for the parts but to pay 4x plus for parts is crazy. On top of that, getting the run around about other fees involved but not breaking it all down on my receipt or giving me that info ahead of time when I made that initial call for the appointment. I don’t know if there’s a lack of transparency from the company, a lack of consistency in pricing or a lack of communication between management, customer service rep, and technician. This makes me weary of working with this company again and even more apprehensive to refer them to friends and family….. And please don’t call me to talk about it cause when I called, I was given the run around and smoking mirror’s. Do you or don’t you charge 4x or more on parts and do you or don’t you charge for time when technicians leaving the premises? I just wanna know who lied to me.
