Lifescape Colorado

Your outdoor space should be a reflection of your lifestyle—seamless, functional, and beautiful. Our custom landscape design and build service begins with a deep conversation: how do you want to use your property? Entertaining under the stars? A quiet morning coffee surrounded by greenery? A play space for kids and pets? We translate those dreams into a master plan that respects the natural contours of your land and the climate of Lifescape Colorado | Landscape Architects.

Our process is collaborative and transparent. After an initial on-site consultation, we perform a thorough site analysis—studying sun exposure, drainage, soil conditions, and existing vegetation. Our landscape architects then draft a conceptual design and investment summary, refining it with your feedback. Once approved, we produce detailed construction plans, select every material and plant, and handle the entire build with our in-house crew. From grading and drainage to planting and irrigation, no detail is overlooked.

What sets us apart? We don't hand off blueprints to a subcontractor. Our team stays with you from concept to completion, ensuring that the finished landscape matches the original vision. Plus, with our property care services, we can maintain your investment for years to come. Whether you need a complete backyard transformation or a front yard refresh, we deliver landscapes that elevate your home's value and your daily life.

The bones of any great landscape are its hardscape features—patios, walkways, retaining walls, and structures that define how you move through and use the space. Our hardscaping team specializes in creating durable, elegant outdoor living areas that stand up to Lifescape Colorado | Landscape Architects's freeze-thaw cycles and intense sun. We use only premium materials like natural stone, permeable pavers, and reinforced concrete, installed with meticulous attention to drainage and stability.

Looking to add warmth and gathering spots? We design and build custom fire pits, fireplaces, and outdoor kitchens complete with built-in grills, refrigerators, and countertops. Pergolas and shade structures extend your usable season, while retaining walls can transform a slope into a terraced garden or seating area. Every hardscape element is integrated with your plantings and lighting to create a cohesive outdoor room.

Our process begins with understanding your entertainment style—do you host large parties or intimate dinners? We then engineer solutions that are both beautiful and practical. For example, our permeable hardscapes reduce runoff and recharge groundwater, aligning with sustainability goals. With decades of experience in luxury residential projects, we know how to blend hardscape and softscape so that your outdoor space feels natural, not forced. Let us build the foundation for your dream backyard.

Colorado's semi-arid climate demands a smarter approach to landscaping. Xeriscaping—landscaping that reduces or eliminates the need for irrigation—is not about rocks and cactus. It's a beautiful, vibrant design philosophy that uses drought-tolerant native plants, efficient irrigation, and thoughtful zoning to create lush, low-maintenance gardens that thrive with minimal water. At Lifescape Colorado, we are pioneers in sustainable landscape design for Lifescape Colorado | Landscape Architects homes.

Our xeriscaping service starts with a water budget analysis. We group plants by their water needs (hydrozoning), select species like penstemon, salvia, and buffalo grass that are adapted to our region, and incorporate hardscape elements that capture and direct rainfall. Smart irrigation controllers, drip systems, and soil amendments reduce waste while keeping plants healthy. The result is a landscape that can cut outdoor water use by 50-75%—without sacrificing curb appeal.

We also specialize in converting existing lawns to xeriscape, a process that involves solarization or sheet mulching to remove grass, then amending soil and planting. For new builds, we integrate xeriscaping from the ground up. Clients love the reduced maintenance (less mowing, fertilizing, and weeding) and the habitat they create for pollinators. With rebates often available from local water providers, sustainable landscaping makes financial sense too. Let us design a garden that is as responsible as it is beautiful.

A luxury landscape is an investment that requires ongoing care to look its best. Our property care and maintenance service ensures that your outdoor spaces remain as stunning and functional as the day they were installed—through every season in Lifescape Colorado | Landscape Architects. We offer customized maintenance plans that cover everything from spring clean-up and mulching to summer pruning, fall aeration, and winterization of irrigation systems.

Our proactive approach prevents small issues from becoming costly problems. We monitor for pests, diseases, and irrigation leaks; we sharpen mower blades to ensure clean cuts; we test soil and adjust fertilization accordingly. For hardscape features, we clean and reseal patios, inspect retaining walls for movement, and service outdoor kitchens and fire features. Snow and ice management in winter keeps your walkways safe and accessible.

What makes our maintenance different? We treat every property as if it were our own. Our crews are trained in horticulture and hardscape care, not just mowing and blowing. We communicate with you regularly, sending reports and photos after each visit. And because we often built your landscape, we understand its unique needs—where drainage is critical, which plants need extra winter protection, how to adjust irrigation controllers as the weather changes. With Lifescape maintaining your landscape, you can simply enjoy it.
