Communication was great, they were able to get a technician out quickly and worked with my schedule. A couple hours after the technician left, the house was getting cold and I noticed that the AC did not turn off. After checking things out I realized that the AC would not shut off.it ran constantly even if I turned the heat on. The only thing that stopped it was turning the whole system off in the attic. After spending $1800 to replace a panel and a sensor (which cost about $300 total online) I still didn't have a working AC. I called All Star and they said unless it was an emergency they wouldn't be able to get anyone back until the next day. The new technician arrived around 2:45 on Saturday and after about 45 minutes informed me that it was a bad panel and he didn't have one on the truck. The technicians were friendly and courteous, but $1800, two trips out, a wasted Saturday an I still don't have a working AC. I guess I will have to arrange to take a day off from work now while I wait for them to fix the problem.

5 stars for Jason and Darwin. They were excellent installers—prompt, communicative, efficient, friendly, and thorough. They got the job done quickly and left everything clean and looking great. I would highly recommend Jason and Darwin without hesitation.
3 stars for the service technician. He quickly wired things up and almost immediately concluded that our blower motor, that was only 4 months old, was burned up, stating it had been wired to run 24/7 and that this was the root cause of the issue. I strongly disagree with that diagnosis and gave him 3 reasons why this was not the case. I am fully convinced the only actual problem was a $25 high-limit switch that went bad.
I was told we needed a $2,000 blower motor, and then was warned that there could also be damage to the control board even though he admitted he saw no issues with it. The conversation quickly shifted to “why spend $2,000 on a motor and then potentially another $1,500 on a board when you could spend $5,000 on a brand-new furnace.”
Ultimately, I did replace the furnace. However, I kept the blower motor they removed, tested it myself, and it works PERFECTLY with no issues whatsoever. That confirmed my concern that the motor was never the problem and the tech should have done some more testing and troubleshooting. Even if we did get to the conclusion that we wanted to replace the furnace, I would rather have come to figure out what the issue was before just jumping to the conclusion that this was the issue and why it needed to be replaced.
I voiced my doubts at the time, I had 5 reasons why this was not the blower motor, but the technician showed little interest in discussing them or working through alternatives. The entire interaction felt rushed, dismissive, and driven by a hard sell using fear rather than facts. As a customer, that left me feeling frustrated and taken advantage of, spending $5,000 for a repair that may have only been $100 with the service call.

Have used All Star for several years and been happy with their crew and timeliness to address issues.
This all changed today when they came to do a regular, prepaid winter check on the heating units for 2 AC units in our attic. Was informed that one unit needed a new capacitor at a price of $409 installed or $570 for installation with a lifetime warranty. Queried the price as capacitors are relatively inexpensive but was told this “is OEM part”. Agreed to non-warranty work and was charged about $360 for less than 5 minutes work to install during the service call. Collected old capacitor and new capacitor packaging from crew. Looked up new capacitor based on box model number and 4 independent suppliers can provision capacitor for $12-20.
Then called office and had manager call us back. He said that price is normal but offered to knock off $50 as we were existing customers.
Pricing strategy here for non-warranty install is way overpriced given existing service call.

The people at All Star A/C, Heating & Plumbing did a great job, and I am very impressed with the hard work they did. I had my AC unit replaced and Ed said they could replace the system for a reasonable price. The installers came the very next day bright and early in the morning. There were some wiring issues, but the workers said they would have it fixed that same day. I am satisfied with the work they did and can tell the people at All Star A/C will go the extra mile to make sure their job is finished and done right.

I had multiple people from the same trades come out and meet with me, by far Ed seemed the most honest. After the visit, he continued to answer my questions until we scheduled. After scheduling, he still answered my 50,000 questions. The work was completed, the guys even vacuumed after finishing.
Comparing To the competition, the competitors wanted me to hire someone else to do certain aspects of the word, This company had various trades in the team that completed the work so it was a one stop shop. In pricing, they were also the best priced compared to the competition (and remember they did the full scope of work whereas other companies said I needed a carpenter and other trades).
Honestly I highly recommend this company for ease of doing business, price, and trust.
My new tankless hot water heater was installed yesterday, 12/21/25. If we have any issues I will come back and update this.
